Caged Words

56

By Phoebe Pike

Locked away in my mind,

The words of a different kind.

Hidden deep within,

Far below my skin.

In my brain it crawls,

I find myself having withdrawals.

No words should be locked,

Yet I am completely blocked.

I hear nothing but the calls,

As they echo off the walls.

Words that aren't heard,

They are all slurred.

My pen is supposed to be my sword,

so where is my word?

Caged away in my heart,

I suppose that's a start...

Caged words in my brain,

And now my ink is about to drain...

Yet nothing appears on this page,

It seems it is backstage.

Please reveal your beauty,

Don't neglect your duty.

Please help me write this,

Just allow my soul your kiss.

Bless my pen,

Your music will be heard then...

No words come,

And now I am done.

No more poems.

It seems that there are plenty of beautiful words on the page. :)
